The Question of the Seed

The seed
cannot know
what flower
it will grow
into,
nor does it fear
the passage
from root
to blossom.
It only knows
that it needs
water to arrive
and sun to survive.
Whatever flower
it will finally be
is not a question
of concern for
the seed
cannot know
what flower
it will grow
into,
nor does it fear
the passage
from root
to blossom.
It only knows
that it needs
water to arrive
and sun to survive.
Whatever flower
it will finally be
is not a question
of concern for
the seed.

Ah, to be in that state of naturalness, to be able to grow unhindered by future arrivals, only simply by present needs.

Does it take courage, unknowing, faith, or some mixture of all three?

I guess, yes... freedom from fear...courage to face the unknown, and faith that your life is yours to spend.

Got your Osho books today. He addresses your question. In fact, the inspiration and metaphor for this one was from something I read by him.
